ROBERT GORDON MCKIE January 23, 1941 - February 6, 2009 It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that the McKie family announces the sudden passing of Robert Gordon McKie at the Health Sciences Centre on February 6, 2009 with his loving family by his side. Gordon's strength and dignity during his short battle with cancer is an inspiration to all. He will be dearly missed by his loving wife Pat; sons, Colin and Andrew; their wives Jocelyne and Andrea; and his beautiful granddaughters, Sydnee and Nealla, whom he adored. They will truly miss their beloved Papa . Gordon was born in Glasgow, Scotland and came to Canada in 1967. Gordon worked at Standard Aero for 36 years and retired in 2003. He loved being outdoors and could be seen camping and on fishing trips regularly. Over the past few years he enjoyed spending the summers at the cottage at Valhalla Beach with his family. He will be sadly missed by his loving family and friends in Scotland, the U.S., and throughout Canada. In lieu of flowers, a donation to CancerCare Manitoba or a charity of your choice. A memorial service will take place on Thursday, February 12, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at the Assiniboia Christian Centre, 3390 Portage Ave with a reception to follow at the ANAVET #283, 3584 Portage Ave. Chapel Lawn 885-9715
